Unlimited

Any Experimental Category aircraft normally aspirated or with a forced-induction engine with a displacement greater than 1,000 cubic inches with fixed or retractable landing gear.

Sport Class

Any Experimental Category aircraft with a normally aspirated engine with a displacement of 1,000 cubic inches or less.

Sport SX

A division of the Sport Class for the Swearingen SX-300 aircraft.

Sport FX-T

Any Experimental Category aircraft with 540/550 cubic inch displacement, forced-induction with Fixed Landing Gear 

Sport FX

Any Experimental Category aircraft with 540/550 cubic inch displacement normally aspirated with Fixed Landing Gear 

Rocket F1

A division of the Sport Class for the F-1 EVO Rocket, Harmon, Rocket II etc.  normally aspirated.

Sport ME 

Any Experimental Category multi engine aircraft with a normally aspirated engine with a total displacement of 1,000 cubic inches or less

Sport MCT

A division of the Sport Class for multi engine centerline thrust aircraft.

Formula RG-T White

Any Experimental Category aircraft with an engine displacement of 390 cubic inches or less, forced-induction, with retractable landing gear.

Formula RG-White

Any Experimental Category aircraft with an engine displacement of 390 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated, with retractable landing gear.

Formula RG-T Blue 

Any Experimental Category aircraft with an engine displacement of 360 cubic inches or less, forced-induction, with retractable landing gear.

Formula RG Blue 

Any Experimental Category aircraft with an engine displacement of 360 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated, with retractable landing gear.

Formula RG-T Red 

Any Experimental Category aircraft with an engine displacement of 320 cubic inches or less, forced-induction, with retractable landing gear.

Formula RG Red 

Any Experimental Category aircraft with an engine displacement of 320 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated, with retractable landing gear.

Formula FX-T White

Formula CZ 

Any Experimental Category aircraft built from the Cozy series of plans and related derivatives (Aerocanard, etc). Class may be subdivided based on entries.

RV-10

Open to  Van’s RV-10 aircraft powered by an engine of 540 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated.

Formula RV-T Gold 

Open to any Van’s RV-series aircraft powered by an engine with forced induction of 361 or greater cubic inch displacement, or having significant airframe structural modifications.

Formula RV Gold

Open to any Van’s RV-series aircraft powered by a normally aspirated engine with 361 or greater cubic inch displacement, or having significant airframe structural modifications.

Formula RV- T White

Open to any Van’s RV-series aircraft powered by an engine of 390 cubic inches or less, forced-induction.

Formula RV White

Open to any Van’s RV-series aircraft powered by an engine of 390 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated.

Formula RV-T Blue 

Open to any Van’s RV-series aircraft powered by an engine of 360 cubic inches or less, forced-induction.

Any Experimental Category aircraft with an engine displacement of 240 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated.

Formula 1

Formula 1 – Any aircraft that meets the IF1 air racing technical criteria including the use of a Continental O-200 and a minimum of 66 square feet of wing area.

Sportsman-T

Any Experimental Category aircraft using a VW or Corvair forced-induction engine conversion.

Sportsman

Any Experimental Category aircraft using a VW or Corvair normally aspirated engine conversion.

Biplane Classes

Biplane Unlimited

Any aircraft having two main lifting wings, to include a tandem configuration, factory or experimental, with an engine displacement greater than 1,000 cubic inches and can be forced-induction.

Biplane Sport

Any aircraft having two main lifting wings, to include a tandem configuration, factory or experimental, using a normally aspirated engine with a displacement of 1,000 cubic inches or less.

Biplane Blue

Any aircraft having two main lifting wings, to include a tandem configuration, factory or experimental, with an engine displacement of 360 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated.

Biplane Red

Any aircraft having two main lifting wings, to include a tandem configuration, factory or experimental, with an engine displacement of 320 cubic inches or less, normally aspirated.

Unlimited

Includes 300 MPH + aircraft similar to the P-51 Mustang, Hawker Seafury, F-8 Bearcat, etc.

T-6

Includes all variants of the AT6 Texan, SNJ and Harvard.

T-28

Includes all variants of the T-28 Trojan.

T-34

Heavy Metal – T34 any piston powered T34 Mentor aircraft

Yak

Includes all variants of YAK aircraft with the exception of the Yak-3,9,  which will race as Unlimited.

CJ

Includes all variants of the Nanchang CJ 5, 6 aircraft.

Stearman / Biplane

Includes all variants of the Boeing Stearman, N2, N2S or Kaydet primary trainer aircraft. May include other models of vintage (round engine) biplanes.

Vintage

Includes aircraft manufactured prior to August 31, 1945.

Qualifying aircraft may run in either HM-Vintage or the appropriate Production class if desired.

MEHM (Multi-Engine Heavy Metal)

Includes any multi-engine heavy metal aircraft.
